Xperia Mini Pro Power Off Alarm

I tried switching off the phone to save the battery since it drains up each night.

But I was shocked to find that my alarm did not work.

Am I missing something, Is there any setting where I could make it wake up to ring the alarm ?

I know that it has nothing to do with Android since I had an Android device that could auto sleep and wake up at specific times.

If it is a hardware level problem with this phone, It would be really disappointing

When I first got mine I did a charge over night (you can leave it on charge as it stops charging at a 100 and then starts again when it hits something like 98... also if you go into alarms and click on the clock at the bottom it has a cool clock mode which stays on... you can use it as a bedside clock while it charges!). Then I was testing the next day so I actually drained the battery until the phone shut down. I didn't do this intentionally but maybe this helped my battery!

What shows up in battery use as the main culprit?

Have you installed any apps? You may want to check them out because something is not right, I think I get 5% max drain, depending on what I have on.

Try a night in airplane mode as uliwooly-wooly suggested and see how much it decreases.

It was Android and I know to differentiate between knockoff Java ones.

This device made me switch from Symbian to Android.

Ok... Thanks for your help guys...

I'll do that tonight and tell you the results in about 20 hours.

no problem

SE keeps killing this forum by "attempting to update" the forum

that's a great add on for some users but I don't think the phone it's entirely off, it might be on some Idle mode

This round I used Task Killer to close all Apps.

It still used up 12% overnight.

The breakup goes like

Wifi - 41%

Cell Standby - 23%

Idle - 22%

Display - 10%

Android OS - 2%

I don't know why Wifi is using that much power if, I'm not using it nor are any Apps that use wifi.

I've now set the Wifi Sleep Policy in Advance Wifi setting from 'Never' to "Wh. Screen Turns off". Should that help ?

ok so that's the culprit of your power drainage, wi-fi, even when you are not using it will drain your battery, you should turn it off when you dont use it, just add a widget

on the homescreen press MENU -> add -> widget -> on/off wifi or powercontrol

or download this app
