Problem with Facebook after update to Android 4.4

After updating my Xperia E1 on Android 4.4.2 (Kitkat) my Facebook App was automatically uninstalled. If I want to install the app from Google Play Store I get the Message "Incompatible Version" and the installation is aborted. I shut down my mobile, removed sim-card and battery put both in again and than started the phone again but that changed nothing. A repair over PC Companion failured also due to no available software. Same problem here.

Bought new Xperia E1, Facebook working fine but phone rebooting regularly.  Performed Android upgrade and Facebook app disappeared.  When try to install from Play store get 'incompatible update' message.

I see on here that one solution is to perform a repair, but this seems to be unreliable and people lose data, so I see that as a last resort. 

Anyone know how to remove all traces of Facebook from a phone and start from that?  Some more useful info from Sony would help.

UPDATE: got into a chat session with someone at Sony from my phone and they said it's a known issue but no solution as yet, and could provide no other information or guidance.

Upgrading to Kit-Kat deleted my FB App and since then it reports 'update(version) incompatibility'. 
How do i solve this misterious sistem mulfunction?

Facebook cannot install, lots of bugs after upgrading Xperia E1 4.3 - 4.4, have you ever tried to

Reset the factory setting of your E1?, resetting you phone's factory after an upgrade is the best way to clean the bugs.

Method for fixing bugs and facebook problem for Xperia E1:

Backup you phones' s Data, Files and Application via Built in Back up & restore application>

go to settings>Backup & reset> (click) Factor data reset> (check) Erase Internal (optional)> and Click [Reset phone]

wait... a moment and your phone will restart,

after the phone starts again.. you will see the Facebook application, fresh and Clean E1 without any bugs. try it..

I have a problem, after upgrading, I lost my facebook app and now cannot reinstall as an error shows that the app is incompatible.  I can see there is a solution on the forum but I am unable to read this.  Can you please give instructions to enable me to reinstall facebook app. Thank you
