After updating my Xperia E1 on Android 4.4.2 (Kitkat) my Facebook App was automatically uninstalled. If I want to install the app from Google Play Store I get the Message "Incompatible Version" and the installation is aborted. I shut down my mobile, removed sim-card and battery put both in again and than started the phone again but that changed nothing. A repair over PC Companion failured also due to no available software. Can you help me? thanks a lot:smileysmileythumbsup:

Hi,
thanks for your help. I tried the PC Companion again. I selected the repair mode and installed the update again. After that, the facebook app was already installed and working. But beware: The data backup, you have to pass through the repair, does not work as it should. I lost all my installed apps. After installing again, most of the data could not be recovered, so I had much data lost. Even after severeal backup repetitions.
Done the PC companion update. restored FB but deleted loads of other stuff. Did back up & restore but pretty much having to start from scratch as made loads of changes in last few weeks since did last back up. Update was spot on apart from FB fiasco. Now wish I'd never done the update 😞
Having the same issue, except I can't use the PC tools as using a Chromebook so unable to download the file.
Any suggestions ?
We are currently looking into this issue but at the moment i can only recommend that you perform a repair of the phones software using PC Companion or Bridge for Mac.
Are you sure that the repair was finished and that your phone was reset when you started it after the repair?
@janer
At the moment i have no other solution than to perform a software repair. Could you perhaps borrow a PC or Mac from a friend?
Same issue here.
I have this problem too. I see Facebook has released an update but this hasn't changed anything - I am still getting 'incompatible update'. Sony - this really isn't doing anything to improve my opinion of you...when are you going to fix this issue?
