cybershot dsc-hx9v focus issues

hi i am trying to use my cybershot in normal focus mode ie focus in on the middle part of the scene.

but when i half press to focus multiple green boxes appear all around the middle which i dont want i just want one.

ive tried different modes and then start having issues with the auto tracking i try to swich it off using the middle button but it keeps coming back on and when it says its off it still tracks and focuses.

how do i set the camera so it focuses on what i tell it to.

please help

thanks

kev.

Hi Kev

When you go to the Menu and then choose 'Focus', have you tried choosing 'Center AF' as opposed to 'Multi AF' as according to the manual, Center AF should only give you the one box to focus without the green areas at the same time.

Thanks,

Simon

HI

I think you're in the wrong menu there.

Expanded Focus is one of the Shooting Settings:

MENU (Settings) (Shooting Settings) [Expanded Focus]

The auto focus options that Simon described are in the Focus menu:

MENU (Focus) [choose desired mode]

Cheers

Mick
