Afternoon,
I'm not sure how long ago, but my network has been showing as Virgin.
Previously I was with Three and now with O2, so no idea where Virgin has come from.
Now I'm getting very patchy reception, and I simply cant shift this Vrigin, even when I manually select the network I want.
Should I do a factory reset? Could it be to do with the fact that the phone was original bought on Virgin? FYI i bought the phone unlocked.
Thoughts welcome.
Best

To add further context to this. I reset the network settings. Turned off wifi and restarted.
When it restarted it said sim not recognised, then phone signal was full, and no data. Then virgin kicked in and then phone signal went down to minimal and no data!?
Could this be some legacy firmware or likes of overriding the settings?
ah the good old network possession, operator phones sometimes come with customized software or built in apps that maybe can't be uninstalled.
I guess if you factory reset your device from settings, it should erase any bugs produced over the time since you had it.
I've seen that happening when I'm abroad, but perhaps you might want to test a different SIM card before you repair the phone with Xperia Companion.
Just wondering, did you flashed the phone (manually updated the phone)?
You can try also to check what will happen when you set up a different SIM card, did you try to contact the network operator?
