Go to http://www.securityresponse.symantec.com and get the fix netsky tool.
The beeping is common with this virus.

Hi Kee-Lo, when i said beeping thing, i meant it as in swearing: sorry!! The 123Mania search engine thingie has come back, where abouts would it have stored its self in windows? If i know that then i will be able to delete it!

ROFL sorry Harry, I thought you meamt a BIOS beep.
I really don't know much about this, using adaware and spybot should really eradicate the problem. Otherwise it's a case of using google to find a solution.

Thank you Kee-Lo, i am doing just that on the comps dn strs as my cmp is full with scans for viruses and security threats etc. I am very depressed. thank you very much for your help

Yeah it's quite annoying.
I have written a guide against e-mail viruses, maybe I should write a section on website viruses.
