Hi, I have persistently had problems with installing and getting new software to work on my sony vaio (VGN-N31M/W). A typical eg is getting Endnote version 8.0.2 to install and operate with microsoft word.
Endnote is a literature referencing software but I can't get it to run on my pc eventhough I've successfully intalled the same software on a desktop and a toshiba laptop. on my vaio laptop, I keep gettng error message "The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000022). click ok to terminate the application" and it terminates Endnote.
After installing microsoft office, the add-ins in ms-word fails to recognize the endnote toolbar unlike it does when installed on other pcs. I've changed the version of microsoft office several times but the problem has persisted
I've constantly reported the error to microsoft but only a few weeks ago I got a feed back that "the problem is caused by the Serial ATA storage controller driver". the link further gives this information " Serial ATA Storage Controller Driver was created by Sony. Sony is aware of this problem and working as quickly as possible to make a solution available".
The link to the sony website does not have any link to problem in question and I can't find the problem with mentioned anywhere else. Is this experience perculiar to me or other clubvaio members have similar experiences? How do you tackle a problem like this one?
