Hi all,
I recently purchased a Sony X10A from a friend. I am having trouble with the camera. Each time I click the camera option, there is a quick click noise. It clicks once, then comes up to the photo screen as it would normally. After it does this, the screen gets really blurry, and it takes horrible pictures. Last Saturday, I tried it by chance and it ended up working normally and taking awesome pictures. When I tried it the next day, I was back to square one with blurry pictures. I've tried all the little tricks to make the camera work better. After reading some of the other posts, I think that the lens may be stuck. I have another friend who has the same phone, and she said hers also does this every once in a while. Do you think the lens is stuck?
I tried contacting customer support, and have always had an issue with SE support. They are many times very unfriendly and unhelpful. Today, I was informed on the online chat that I could send it in, but would have to call the service number to make arrangements. After reading the day-code to the service rep, I was informed that the phone was out of the SE warranty, and I would need a receipt for the phone to prove that the phone is under a year old; even though the online support said I could send it in. I was under the impression that the X10 model in general was under a year old to begin with? I do not have a receipt, as I received it from my friend. He is going to look for it though. I'm basically screwed if he cant find it. Also, I was informed by SE that they don't do service calls if your phone is not under warranty. So I cant even pay to have the phone fixed???
Can someone please offer me some suggestions? I would really appreciate it!
