can't select subwoofer on my STR-DN840

My subwoofer just dosent work on TV, Blu-ray,or CD. I have cleared the amp of all settings, but it won't let me select 5.1 only 5.2 or 5.2.1 it seems to default on 3.2.0 in fact 5.1 isn't even on the list.

Iv just updated to the latest firmware, and on re-calibrating the speaker setup the SW is there but very weak.
