Throw has stopped working

Hi everyone, my name is not malcolm but someone has my name as an alias! My Xperia E4g throw has stopped functioning altogether. Error messages appear all the time and I can't even access the throw settings menu to adjust anything. Software update doesn't help and resetting the device doesn't help either. Does anyone have a suggestion?

Hi @-Malcolm-,

I'm sorry to hear this. If I understood you correctly you have tried a factory reset and that didn't help? Have you also tried a software repair using PC Companion? If not then I would suggest that you try that with the help of a PC.

Hi Christopher, thank you for your response. I tried to update all apps and phone apps but that did not work. I tried to restore the phone to an earlier setting but that didn't work. Eventually I did a complete reinstall of the whole phone and imported all my info and settings from the backup. That worked except for the fact that a bunch of numbers disappeared into the ether. Who knows where they go, maybe we'll have a Internet bound consciousness that thinks it works on a switchboard irritating us with missed calls. Thanks again for your post and reply. Peace.

Thanks for letting us know that the software repair fixed this for you though I'm sorry to hear that some of your contacts disappeared. Slightly_frowning_Face

A backup in PC Companion only backs up the contacts that are saved locally in your phone, if they were synced with a Google account or similar service you need to add the same account again. I'd also suggest that you check the filters in the Contacts app, Contacts > tap the three dots > Filter > Show contacts, and enable all categories here. Might be that the contacts are there, just that they aren't visible.
