my problem with my xz3 is that it keeps restarting..again and again...it's impossible...and doesn't recognise the sim card....i'm not using this phone almost 8 months...do something I have had this phone from new and previously had no problems until this update it is terrible that nothing has been done
Hi there, try a factory reset from settings, system, about phone, I guess that's the usual pathway. make a backup for your stuff, because this step will wipe the phone clean.
Perform the steps above, if this does not fix the issue, I would suggest calling your local support or network if purchased on a plan, and get it booked in for a repair.
Same issues since beginning of 2020
Contacted O2 support, not luck as well.

I have move my sim to my old HTC to keep receiving calls amd messages after recent update as issues got worse. Too many restarts and battery draining.
Trying to use XZ3 on WiFi which sometimes does not work either due to too many restarts.
Some restarts don't detect sim card, hence WiFi fail to connect as well. Reported to O2 UK few times, but it's not there issue as sim works on other devices well.
So problems mainly with signal, sim and WiFi in android 10 on xz3...
Unusable pretty much for last 8-9 months...
Reported it on old sony forums but could not repost on these newer ones since move...
There are usually following patch updates that follow the Android system updates, that fix any occurring bugs and stabilize the new operating system in the devices, have you had that security update yet?
Hi CosmicTomato
Currently no pending updates appear on my device (at 52.1.A.3.92 version). After updating to this version, all the problems escalated. If previously it was 2-3 restarts a day, after update its probably 25+ times (lot the counting). Plus battery drainage issue.
I am hoping Sony will issue a fix to these problems soon.
Thanks
You suffer 8-9 months already.
You did test in safe mode and you did test with a friend's SIM card I suppose.
When factory reset fails:
- charge your device to > 80%
- Do a software repair with Xperia Companion.
- do NOT restore the backup to begin with.
- Just install the most needed mainstream apps.
Other option that makes a device go wild is a faulty SD card or maybe even the SIM card (although it functions well in your old device)
Leave both cards out if you're using an SD card and test.
Also have a look at the support app, home, device overview to see if there have been app issues.
Thanks for the advice.
I currently have a different sim than usual O2 UK sim, still same. So I concluded that issue is with the software on phone and not with network as O2 sim works well on other device.
Let me try Xperia Companion to see if it makes any diffference
Thanks
