Xperia XA Memory 80% full & can't transfer to SD card

Hi, I've just got a new Xperia XA and I'm new to smart phones.

I activated the free movie offer on the Privilege Plus app and selected 12 movies.

I downloaded one movie onto my phone with out problems but when I tried to download another I got a message about insufficient memory.

The storage is 79% full. I bought a 32GB SD card and formatted it via the phone.

What I want to do is download and store movies on the SD card for future viewing. However when I go the "transfer data" option there are no movies or other data to transfer. There are only apps on the phone and no videos, music or photos.

Can anyone please advise what I'm doing wrong?

My bad. I made a post on OzBargain about this a while ago.

So that's Sony's and my trolling out of the way, now I'll answer your query.

First off, 32 GB is still not enough to hold 12 HD movies.

Second, send an abusive email to Facebook and ask them how much was it to bribe Sony in to packaging their 300MB+ app in to the Firmware so it's uninstallable.

Third, the move to SD function in Androids and iPhone are somewhat misleading in the fact that you can't truly move certain apps that are using up bulk space. See point 2 above.

Treat and think of the SD card as a "Media Only" storage space.

In the Privilege plus application, there is a setting to change storage locations to the SD card.

The movies will be in a weird format that is only available to view from the Privilege plus app, if I recall correctly.

Be back in 5 minutes... I'll download 21 jump street and tell you.

Just want to quickly say, there is no option to cancel the download once you start. You'll need to clear and reset the app.

But here is the option to save to SD

Here's the file path for Privilige Plus on your SD Card... replace the "AA..........." with your SD Card name...

and yes... I'd say that it's chunked the movie and has some sort of DRM thing... You could probably screen record the entire movie, then delete the Privilege Plus file, that way you could watch it on Any media player.... and cast it to any device using HDMI bypassing HDCP
