WH-1000XM3 Cracking/popping noise
There is a cracking/popping noise in the left side of the headset, this gets worse when shake the headset around by moving my neck or walking etc. This continues even when the headset is off. And there wasn't any physical force applied to the headset. Anyone having similar problems?

(1) Gorilla tape around the hinge, real tight! And (2) thin plastic sheet insert in both cup pivot points; both cups.

Same, only kind of windy sound in left ear cup while in NC mode

The windy sound is just feedback from the NC circuit. That's why all manufacturers recommend turning NC Off when there's no sound to be cancelled (i.e. quiet environment or minimal noise).

Had the same issue, also left ear while walking or riding on public transport (suttle bumps in the road). Did an RMA on the X3 and upgrade to X4, thinking they would have addressed the issue. While the x4 is by far more comfortable, they too rattle when walking. For a premium price, fantastic headphones excluded, really annoying and it takes away from the "greatness" of owning a pair that gets flawless ratings. Get the feeling that a component has not been paded/secured properly to prevent the rattle. GREAT headphones but rattles and sound never go together!

Hi
I bought these in june
Ive literally opened the wrapping
A few weeks back
Connected them to my samsung
Galaxy s7 edge
Played a track at top volume
To my horror
They distorted and popped on the
Right cup!
This was through bluetooth.
I then tried through the headphone
Cable
Perfect!
But this is useless to me!!!!
A £259 pair of headphones that
Distort through bluetooth mode?
They are 4 months old a birthday
Present from the mrs (july)
And im devasted they are poor!
Thought these would be amazing with
All the rave reviews backed up with 5
Star what hifi??????
Ive got to organise returning them......
But my gut feeling is they just cant handle the sound???

I know it sounds silly, but give it a couple good whacks on the outside of the left headphone, right where the NFC logo is. Didn't use the headphones for a year because I thought they were busted until I saw a thread with this trick.

Switched on my product for the first time to the exact same problem. Light crackling in the left ear piece. Noise cancelling my *****. This is the very last time I buy Sony. I'll never recommend this product to anyone.

Hi bmcp_83, is it like the poster's issue? If yes you may want to consider returning them as that might be a physical damage case.
