WF-XB700 audio issues on Windows 10

Hi,

I have a pair of WF-XB700 earbuds that work fine on Linux but on Windows 10 the audio keeps cutting, sometimes for a longer period of 10 secs. I've tried reinstalling device and bluetooth drivers but so far I have not had any change in the audio quality.

Any ideas?
My computer is HP Elitebook 830 G5

Hi,

Maybe it's an issue with the selection of a wrong BT profile.

Please check out our BT connection guide below:

Cheers

You can try resetting them or following the steps from the Help Guide.

@Joe_Dohn

I have done this a few times with no success with the issue.

@Peter_S.

The article you linked doesn't really give much info on profile matters, like if there's a way to change and try different profiles somehow. Device information lists the head phones as a 'Microsoft Bluetooth A2dp -source', which I'd expect to be correct - if I could change that, I don't know what other profile would be more suitable. Sound device is selected as WF-XB700 Stereo (rather than WF-XB700 Hands-free AG audio, which is selected as input). I have no audio issues while using Microsoft Teams, but that is another profile.

Have you tried a factory initialization as well?

Sorry, this issue got shelved a bit for a while. But no, factory initialization has not worked either.

edit: I did the factory initialization again and I tried to pair it with Windows first as I wondered whether pairing with the linux side (dual boot) might cause issues because I do have to remove the re-pair the headset with either of the OSs if I had previously paired and connected it wither other. This might be just because the headset sees the different OSs as the same, probably because the computer has the same ID for the BT for both OSs  but needs a different configuration for the headset with each OSs.

But, no luck. I have the issue with the headset on Windows from a fresh initialization as well.

Hi Dudetype, did you try it with a phone and had the same issue?

Works fine on my SailfishOS phone (Sony Xperia XA2), also on Samsung S10e Android phone that I've tried, and on Macbook 2017 with a macOS 10.13.6. I haven't had the opportunity yet to test on another Windows machine.

Hey,

Guess that's really needs to be next steps step, cause so far from what I can see it works fine with everything else but your windows laptop ''HP Elitebook 830 G5''.
So, just to be on the safe side, the most logical next step is to try it with another PC/Laptop and it should be the same version, like if you're using a 64 bit Windows 10, I guess it should also be the same.

Cheers.
