SRS-XB43 Firmware Version 4200

New member so  Hello & Happy New Year.

I recently purchased an SRS-XB43 via amazon . I checked the Firmware with Music Center & it shows 3800 as the version.

I also purchased another one more recently via the Sony Store. Checking the Firmware shows 4200.

I contacted Sony support with a screenshot of this..

Sony support made no comment about 4200 in their response & directed me to the Sony Downloads page.

This gives 3800 as being the correct version.

I replied to their answer & asked for an explanation of why is 4200 given as its Firmware version.

Their response was to again direct me to the Sony Downloads page.

Has anyone else been given this Firmware version ?

Hello @padunne86,

could be Sony "leaked" their coming firmware by shipping new units with it.

I am sure it will soon be available for download as well.

Thanks for responding. 

You are most likely right about this.

Sony could have said this when I contacted them. It cant be that big a secret.
