I have the 'vintage' Discman D-131. It was working fine until the 'hold' feature which is designed to stop you accidentially pressing buttons on the move is permanently on. The sliding switch moves left-right and clicks between the on/off positions in the normal way, but the 'hold' message on the LCD display doesn't disappear and none of the buttons work. The fault started with the button needing extra pressure to switch the feature off, but no amount of pushing will switch it off now. I have taken the unit apart and nothing seems broken. Can anyone advise if there is a workaround for this or whether a repair is likely to be possible? Thanks in advance!
Hi gpp291, I would say it needs repair, but I'm not sure if the arts will be available.. Contact Sony to check. Good luck ^^
Thanks for taking the time to reply. Yes, in the absence of some trick to disable this feature (which I don't really need), I suspect I would be told it is obscelete!
Hi gpp291, I'm sorry I tried to help but I couldn't even find the Manual..
