Windows 7 upgrade to VGC-LN2M

I have completed the recovery disks but when I try to run disk 1 the system is telling me that the unnamed volume is not present above the volume labled (C:).
It is then asking me to restore the factory settings of my PC and I am nervous about any loss of data or settings that might occur when restoring the factory settings.

Hi jkitchen and welcome.

I assume you have/are attempting to upgrade from Vista to Win 7?

I have completed the recovery disks

Can you expand on this as, as far as I am aware, you cannot create recovery disks on an upgraded system as recovery disks are created from the original hidden recovery partition and this will still be the Vista OS.

I have no idea what the message “unnamed volume is not present above the volume labled (C:).” means, but yes, if you restore to factory settings you will lose all data and third party software.

I suggest that you contact Support for clarification...
