VGN-AW21M Brightness control

I just bought a Vaio VGN-AW21M 18.4 inch.
I don't want the screen to be as bright as it is default.

When changing brightness through Fn/f5 or F6, I get the brighness icon on screen and am able to set it to my liking.

However, when restarting or when coming out of hybernate or similar, the settings seem to be default again, hence TOO bright for me, how can I save my setting?

Hi Icecubix,

You should be able to change the default screen brightness, on battery or plugged in, via Vaio Control Center.

Click Start and scroll down to Vaio Control Center -> expand Power Management and click on Vaio Power Management Viewer.

Click on the ‘Advanced’ tab and then click the ‘Advanced Settings’ tab.

Expand ‘Display’ and then ‘Display Brightness’.

Then click on the percentage brightness displayed for either ‘On battery’ or ‘Plugged in’ and adjust as required.

Click ‘Apply’.
