USB 2 to USB 3
I am running a Sony Vaio all in one desktop VPCJ1 with what I presume is USB 2 ports. I understand the later USB 3 are much faster. Is it possible to upgrade to USB 3 without too much trouble.
Regards

Hi careyclose,
As far as I am aware the only way of achieving USB 3 speed if you only have USB 2 ports is via an Express Card adaptor – you cannot convert USB 2 to USB 3. I’m almost certain that the VPCJ1 range only have USB 2 ports and lack an Express Card slot. USB 3 is backwardly compatible with USB 2 but at only USB 2 speed.

Thanks Rich that's what I thought, just have to wait until I need a new computer, i will make sure it has everything I need. I had a older Sony vaio running XP and thought when it went caput a newer one would have more and better hardware and software, boy was i wrong, more money less for it, this one is nowhere near as good as my old machine but it will have to do for now. Thanks again and have a Happy Christmas.
