Net-MD problems

The Net MD drive of my PCV-RX413N is playing only three songs of a record. After this it start to searching (without success) and switch off. It is impossible to reactivate the drive (only by rebooting the computer)

Is it a Software or a Hardware problem? What can I do?

If it works for three songs, then it searches, means the software is searching for data that is no longer available either by deletion or corrupted data. I would certainly concentrate on the software.
