MOTHERBOARD NEEDED FOR VAIO VGC-V2M

Hi, does anyone know where I can buy a replacement motherboard for this machine? Cost around £1500, and just after a year the motherboard went pop. Hardly used the thing, so pretty gutted and has been sitting in our loft ever since. Not prepared and cannot afford to pay for Sony to do the job, but would like the thing back and working if possible. Any advice much appreaciated.

Sony motherboards are custom made and are not normally available to be purchase, you could search on ebay or similar but I guess you'll take a chance that the MB's ok..

Are you sure it's the motherboard.?

Thank you for your reply. Yes, sadly it is the motherboard.

Switched it on one morning, and nothing on the screen. Took it to a pc shop and they said it was the MB. I contacted Sony and they wanted something like £587 to collect, repair and return.
I though that was excessive especially as a brand new all-in-one pc was only £699. Its a shame though, as the VAIO is in excellent condition and wasn't very old when it went bang!

Not much more I can suggest really, motherboard replacements are dear and it's, as you say, probably cheaper to replace your Vaio all in one.

If you can find a cheap motherboard for the V2M on Ebay then perhaps you may want to try that avenue.
