Sony STR-2400ES OK for 3D?
Want to upgrade my home cinema to 3D and looking for some advice. Have a Sony STR-2400ES AV Receiver switching Sky HD, Sony BDP-S350 Blu-ray and XBox 360 to a Toshiba 42X3030 TV. Plan to get a Sony PSP3 (for 3D Blu-ray) and Sony KDL-46HX803 3D TV. Is my STR-2400ES OK for switching 3D signals from Sky HD box and Sony PSP3?
Tx

I don;t think it is. I have a 6400ES and my understanding is that non of the ES range from 2009 can cope with 3D.
I'll check and confirm though.
thanks

No. Blu-ray 3D requires HDMI version 1.4 which the stre2400es does not have. The only way to avoid having to upgrade the receiver is to get the Opp BDP-93 ($499 USD) which has two HDMI outputs. One can be connected directly to your HX803 and the other, for audio only, to the 2400. BTW, unless I'm mistaken, isn't the PS3 limited to lossy DD or DTS 5.1 when playing BR 3D?
