This seems like a glitch to me. Have you tried disconnecting everything from the set and also unplugging it from the wall for a few minutes to de-power?

If you've already tried that, updating the software to the latest version would be my next step.

Hi there,

Welcome to the Sony Community.

Are you seeing this judder continuously or is it most noticeable when on-screen objects move quickly?

Best wishes,

Sean

Hi Sean. The judder is there in a 3 second cycle either when the picture is moving or not. I removed the inputs from DVD and my satellite inputs. The Stationary Txt on screen still flashes from clear txt too a 45 degree judder to the above and to the left of viewed txt. There is also a line that is near the top of the screen. We had decided to purchase a different model, back to a internal transformer not like the 19DC Volt  external model which this model is.  A KD55X8196BU arrived yesterday, easily set up and running. Thanks for your time.If i thought it could be just a easy fix i will keep hold for a few days.,and possibly keep it for the spare room or to somebody who could do with a new TV. If not it's to the recycle centre for it.  Cheers Phil Wright.

Hi JD, tried all the usual methods, still no joy. We have just moved residence a few months ago and found that we could fit a larger TV in the living room. So we’ve accepted it’s a non-runner and gone out and purchased a new Sony KD54XH8196BU from the Sony Centre in Leeds. Thanks for the help. PS: hope this 1 lasts a bit longer.

Hi, unfortunately my TV has this exact problem you have described “picture has a vertical judder lasted 3 seconds and then reverts back to normal screen for 3 seconds and repeats”. This started a few days ago and after looking for a solution online I came across this post. Was there ever a solution for the problem? My TV is the same KD-49XD8305 model. Was purchased in June 2017, and although it has seen a lot of use I would like to try and fix if possible.
Any suggestions would be great please.

Hey PatrickStar, did you try these steps?

-Unplugging the TV from the mains for two minutes while removing any external devices?

-Updating the TV: https://www.sony.co.uk/electronics/support/lcd-tvs-android-xd83xx_x83xxd-series/kd-49xd8305/software...

-Factory reset: https://helpguide.sony.net/tv/daep1/v1/en/08-01_03.html

Hi,

yes tried all the above. The problem is still there even after a factory reset. And I believe the tv has the latest software update, however I will read through the link and double check

thanks

The software version is currently PKG6.7210.0363EUA. Which according to the Tv that is up to date. However the link you have provided suggest otherwise

You can try updating the software by downloading it to your computer and putting it on a USB stick, follow the procedure included in the link in an earlier reply.

But if your TV is behaving like that my guess is that is the end of the road.

Probably too expensive to fix such an old TV.

The original poster in August 2020 gave up and bought a new TV.
