Hi, I'm hoping someone can help me with what I assume is a simple query!
I recently purchased an Xperia X10 and have inserted my sim from my old W995. Whilst I'm prompted for my sim pin number (which works), I can't get any of my contact details. In the phonebook - I keep getting the following message -> My number: SIM card unavailable
Hope someone can help
Tks

Hi,
This is typically a case of older SIM cards or SIM cards that simply don't support this.
By getting your contact details, do you mean copying your contacts from the SIM to the phone? You should still be able to do this: Phonebook > MENU key > More > Import contacts.
The SIM card unavailable just refers to displaying your personal number.

Hi Jeff - Thanks for your help. This worked!
Cheers
When I upgraded back in June, when I initially put my sim in the phone, this displayed fine. But, when I upgraded, the sales assistant recommended that I get a new sim card (I'd had mine for seven and a half years!) to make it speedier. This it did. But since changing to this new sim, my phone does not display my number. I've put the sim back in my old phone, and followed the suggestions on here. But it doesn't work. There are some PTT apps that need this to function. There seem to be lots of users with this issue.
Any ideas please?
Hi dear Moderator ,
I bought a Xperia X10 yesterday. I inserted my old SIM card in this mobile , But when ever i m opening contacts its showing "SIM card unavailable" , though i can search my contacts through SIM toolkit options (But if i make a call Name of the contact is not appearing , and same happens when somebody whose Number is there in my SIM calls me !!! ) . I tried IMPORT options also But "No Contacts On Your SIM Card " this Message appears on the screen.
Please Help i am not able to use this phone for Even calling !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks.
Hi,
Not all SIM cards are able to be read by Android phones.
I suggest you put your SIM in your previous phone, copy your contacts to the PC and then move them to Gmail or Sony Ericsson Sync application and then copy them to the phone.
Problem: "SIM card is faulty", even after changing SIMs twice
Fix: ???????
Please help
Thnx
Hi Sharylm, my suggestion would be to try the 3rd one. Also to try those 2 SIM cards with another phone.
