Hi, I have an xperia x10 on at&t (still only with android 1.6) and it has been working fine until a couple of days ago. My wi-fi has been working fine (except for the occasional "unable to start wifi") until one day it just stopped working. I was connected to my home wifi network when all of a sudden it just disconnected. I proceeded to go into my settings to turn it back on, however, when I checked the box, it turned on for about 5 seconds then turned off and said "unable to scan for networks." I have tried everything I can to get it back to working. I have tried:
-Taking out the battery, sim, and memory card for a few minutes. replacing them all and restarting the phone.
-doing the above but while everything is out holding the back key for 30 seconds, then putting everything back in and holding the power button for 10 seconds.
-Plugging the phone into my computer
The only thing I haven't done is the factory reset. I do NOT want to do this because I have heard that it only sometimes works and if it doesn't work, then I cant't get any of my apps or anything back on my phone and it will be completely useless to me. I do not want to lose all the data on my phone because I have no internet currently, and therefore can not backup anything.
Please provide me with some info that can fix this!

They were supposed to be included with android but Sony Ericsson removed them so there wouldn't be competition to their Mediascape
yea, i know. i've already downloaded some other stuff i couldn't before. I also like the finger drag fast-forwarding and stuff. But i'm ok with the finger drag zoom. It would be very nice to run android 2.3,
I wish I could. Btw, what do you think of the xperia arc? I think it's amazing, but I just can't belive they didn't put a dfront facing camera on it. Other than that, that phone has everything i could possibly want.
it's an x10 with system specs a fraction better. You would never notice any difference in speed or performance. The only thing I would ever actually want that it's got and the x10 doesn't is wireless N, rather than old laggy G.
I think the Xperia Arc is what the X10 should've been to begin with
the Arc have a single core and single camera
the new 2011 generation of android will have dual core and 2 cameras and even 3 cameras (for 3D)
they could've included a better battery not just 1500mha
the screen is only LCD when they could've use a Super-LCD or OLED
etc etc etc
but don't get me wrong, the Arc as it is or going to be its an amazing phone, but it's not a serious competition against newer phones.
I agree that the arc could've had a dual core processor (although single core 1 ghz is perfectly fine with no lag or slowness) Battery can always be improved too, however, I think 3 cameras is a little bit of a stretch, nobody really needs that on a mobile phone. I mean really. I also think the screen is fine, remember it does have the nice bravia engine to make colors look more robust. One last improvement would be for the camera though, 8mp is a little old now, they should've used at least 12mp like the Satio and make it have a better sensor for better quality images. More mp doesn't always mean better picture. And they should look into possibly giving it 1080p for video.
oh and not to mention they should also have put xenon flash along with the led photo light
