I got the phone a few days ago, unlocked and I am with telstra, at first it worked fine but on my 2nd day of using it it started failing to send messages, if i turned the phone off and on again it would work fine for about 5 minutes then stop sending again, the whole time iv been having no problems at all recieving messages, just sending them. After looking around i found a few things saying change the network mode to GSM only and reset the APN's which both seemed to work for a few hours before dropping out again. Any ideas? Hoping its something as simple as a setting or something i may need to update.
Thanks in advance for any replies.

ya i found that, but i assume some are inportant or needed for normal running of the phone and others are just using my credit and ram, problem is i don't know whats what (apart from the obvious ones)
Your welcome. With regards to your concern about your data quotas being lost by some background app, best way to ensure that is not happenning is to
1. Turn off the background data option.
Settings Menu ---> Account & Sync ---> Background data traffic (Untick it)
2. Disable the mobile wireless data.
Settings Menu ---> Wireless & networks ---Mobile Networks ---Data enabled (Unticked)
You could try performing action 1) first and see if you notice your data quota being lost gradually by the background apps
If it is still being lost, then performing action 2) will definitely stop the phone from using the mobile wireless network for it's data transmissions.
Note : You can still surf the internet if you have connected to a WiFi network. If you need to update those Android Market apps, then you will have to enable the Background data. You can then turn it off again once you have finished with the updates.
Good luck
you are a winner, thank you, exactly what i was looking for.
You are welcome. Have a good weekend.
