Xperia Arc build number 3.0.1.A.0.145 vs build number 3.0.1.A.2.181

Does anyone know what the differences are between the 3.0.1.A.0.145 build vs the 3.0.1.A.2.181 build for the v2.3.3 software release?

Thank you

The 2.181 build is the older version (Android 2.3.2) that the phone was launched with.

0.145 is the latest version and this brought the Facebook Inside Xperia features. You read more on the changes here,

I'm not aware of this 3.0.1.A.0.181 software.

Are you sure you're not mixing it up with the first one? 3.0.A.2.181?

Hi Johan,

You are right. I actually meant 3.0.1.A.2.181.

I will correct the thread title

So do you know what the differences are between the .0.145 and the .2.181 build?

Thank you

The latest software comes with the Facebook inside Xperia feature. That amongst some general fixes for improved performance and some bug fixes.

There's however no complete change log available so I won't be able to give you a list on the changes made.

Markus-SEAnswers,

I have a question about the builtin/combined Facebook support.

Does the system keep "polling" for data if one is roaming, and if yes, will there be a way to "disable" that function, as the

cost to the user would be prohibitive?

Secondly, can this be eliminated from the phone in it's entirety if not used by the User?

When roaming, all data will be inactivated by default. You actually need to go to Settings > Wireless & networks > Mobile networks > Roaming. Here you can activate this. You can also activate/deactivate data traffic here.

You can of course choose to not use the Facebook app/integration. However, once you have accepted and started using the Facebook integration, you cannot stop using it without also stop using the Facebook app.

I really don't want to be hater but a lack of proper documentation is not exactly a testament of professionalism, is it?

Will there ever be a change log available at all?

Hi Markus,

I was just curious about the main differences between the .0.145 and the .2.181 software build and whether it is worth my while trying to flash my firmware to a .2.181 build.

I currently have a .0.145 build on v2.3.3

I totally understand this and I do see a win from the user point of view in having such a list.

We sometime post on the product blog about changes made but there's never been a complete change log as far as I can remember. The posts on the product blog are mainly about the big changes and new features.

Each software customization would have to have a change log of its own and it would in the end mean that there would be a lot of logs to keep track on and update. This might be a reason (I really don't know for sure).

I'll forward your feedback.
