Hi!
Like so many others, I got problems getting my X8 to charge.
I tried:
* Removing the battery for one hour before replacing and rebooting
* Removing sim and sd card before replacing and rebooting
* Booting up the phone without sd and sim cards
* Charging with a different charger
* Charge from PC
* Different (brand new) USB cable
* Different (brand new) battery.
* Restoring factory defaults
* Charging the phone while its shut down
Nothing works. The phone will not charge, and the phone will not connect to the computer
My phone is rooted, and running Floyo 0.30 (HTC - Android 2.3) OS.
Charging has always been a little tricky. Sometimes working only from pc. Sometimes working only from charger.
It was like this evne when brand new, long time before I rooted it, or swapped OS.
The phone is 9 months old.
Any ideas what might be wrong, or what I can do to get it charged?
Solved: Bought new phone

To me this seems to be a hardware problem so I suggest that you contact your local support team to see if you can have it examined/ repaired at a repair center.

But you should not expect this as a warranty repair since you've modified the software and also sprayed the phone with WD40.
I would bring it back to the store where you purchased it and get a new one as long as you have the reciept & explain the problem to them. If they dont do anything about it ring Sony ericsson on 08705 237 237.
It might be difficult for vegard1985 to get a replacement even if the phone is only nine months old. The reason being that the phone's OS has been modified to a non standard SE version.
Thats not an option unfortunately, since the OS is altered. I contacted them already, to no avail.
I got the Charging to function properly by the way, a spray of WD40 into toe usb connector did the trick.
I doubt it will last very long though.
And USB connectivity is still not working.
