to get access to the internet. That's right,my internet goes off after that many minutes.
I also can not get to auto internet settings, they are no longer there.
Could anybody suggest what is it,that i may have done wrong
Thank you gary

In fact, it is automatically setup once you insert your SIM Card. Since you are able to use the internet, your phone is already setup. It is only the Network mode that you need to CLARIFY WITH YOUR CARRIER.
Hopefully I am not wrong :smileywink:.
Need more information, do you mean your gprs (data traffic) or Wi-Fi?
hello, when the internet goes off ,i av no idea until i try to connect to,lets say face book.
the message i get back is cant connect. It dosen't matter which web site im on . once it goes off,
i do av to turn it off & on again, for it to respond. i'm sorry i can't be more helpfull.im not that clued up
on it lol. hope my explanation, helps some what, Gary
Ok. It might be a couple of possible reason, your Carrier network, your SIM Card, your setting etc....
Let's try your setting first (which might be related to your Carrier network or SIM Card), press MENU (rite hard button)>Settings>Wireless & networks>Mobile networks>Network Mode. I have a feeling that yours is GSM/WCDMA preferred, try changing it to GSM only. Try browsing the internet and let me know.
Good luck.
hello no its not gprs, nor wifi, they are still visable at the top of the screen.
Don't get what you mean???? Did you check the Network Mode? I am suspecting that either your Carrier is providing only GSM coverage or your SIM Card need to be changed for both network coverage. If what I suggested earlier works (PLEASE go have a look at the Network Mode), call your Carrier to check on the both network.
Yes it was GSM/WCDMA config. Yes i have put it on GSM, & yes i can get on the net.
Will having it only GSM affect anything? I wont be able to tell straight away,as it does take upto 40 mins.
I will let you know either way.In what way could it be the sim card?
Thanks Gary
If that is proven the case, check with your Carrier about the Network coverage.
I remember that for Android 1.6, the Network Mode is GSM, after you have updated to Android 2.1, you have option to use GSM only, WCDMA only or both.
Hello,so could you possibley tell how come the Auto Internet Settings are no longer on the phone?
Would that be that version 2.1, didn't need iot? If i do need those settings,is there any site i can download,
from. There the settings that automaticly set your phone when you put in another network sim.
Im telling you that, cos you will know that lol
Thanks Gary
