Hi everybody, this question is for US subscribers to AT&T. I want to try the tethering option of the new OS on my X10 running GB (generic).
Has anyone tried it? I dont have the tethering feature activated in my contract with AT&T (and I dont plan to) so I am afraid I am going to be billed thousands of $$. I tried a few years ago with my BB and I got cought and got billed $2685!! for a few MBs. Of course I got out of it and they were "nice" about it but I dont want to get through this again. Does anyone use the tethering option through AT&Ts 3G without a tethering contract? if yes for how long?
Thanks everyone in advance!

tethering works on AT&T using X10 2.3.3 global generic. as long as you don't use it a LOT, more than 10GB or 20GB per month, they will notice that you are tethering, if you keep it under that you should be fine, if you think about it, Pandora uses a LOT of data so you should be fine
Thank you again!!
I will experiment with a few MB for a billing cycle or 2 and I will get back to you. I use Pandora may be 4-5 hours a week. I still have the old "Unlimited" plan from AT&T, if such a thing exists anymore, I think it caps on 10 GB anyways. I never get over 3 GB a month (over 3G) so I will install a "traffic counter" to monitor my usage just in case.
Thanks again and I wait for your review on custom GB ROMS. You dont have to post it on the board just send me an email or something. Have a beautiful day!
if you have the old Unlimited data plan (I do too) then you will be fine even if you go over 10GB
Thanks again!
Tonight I ll try re-flashing 2.3 generic and hopefully all this annoying skipping and jumping during video recording is going to go away. I remember I had the same problem with my Black Jack 2. But even then it wasnt that bad.
