I just purchased the Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc from amazon.com,which says it is an LT15a. Should I be concerned? Sony's site now has the Arc INDEFINITELY backordered, and was $200 more than what I could get on amazon.com. I lost my X10a,AND I MISS MY ANDROID! Worse,I heard that SE started rolling 2.3 out for generic X10a's like mine. I flashed my Xperia from xda and never looked back!
I am here in the USA,and my mobile carrier is at&t. I won't have problems with phone setting,SMS and MMS messaging settings.etc.,will I? Had problems sending MMS messages over at&t to others,I believe after the official 2.1 OS was rolled out at the beginning of June.
Google's Android market support was FANTASTIC!! Called them, asked about my current X10a apps to rollover to the new Arc,and the young man from CSR said that I could!! I think Google really cares about its customers and how we can customize our mobiles via the market and other developer sites.
Mind you,I'm still a novice when it comes to Android and the tech talk surrounding it,but excited enough to do research to flash my mobile if need be,to get better results for my mobile. I always read up,ask questions, and try to take in all the information that is out there,to put it to my use,to make my mobile work FOR ME AND MY LIFE!
I would also like to thank everyone on here at Sony Ericsson support, for those who will answer my qusetions here;your input is invaluable. Although disappointed at Sony Ericsson at times for neglecting its customer base, the people on here at support are wonderful. FOR THAT, I WOULD LIKE TO SAY THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!

on your computer go to
Market.android.com
click on my library and then start sending the apps to your Arc
Oh and remember that you can Backup everything on your X10 and then transfer it ot your Arc by installing the backup & restore app on your Arc, yes it works on the Arc, neo, play, etc check the link above
Thank you so much,I knew you would help me!! I haven't received it yet, having ordered it a few days ago,but I'm anxiously awaiting its arrival via USPS. So,and update is in order? Guess I will bring my pc to the nearest wifi so I can download that update!
I lost my X10a,and I did have the backup and restore app that I paid for from the Android market. There are some apps that I can redownload from the Market to be sent to the Arc,but I will sync contacts and whatnot from Google and Facebook.
Some of my music from my C905a I will bluetooth, since the Media Go doesn't recognize some of my files. I think they are mp4,and somehow I cannot redownload Quick Time, and therefore download Media Go ver.1.7,which blows. All this from a POS Sony Vaio laptop pc that isn't even five years old!!
See that there are TONS of issues with wifi, but I don't use wifi that much, unless I'm in my friends apartment in NYC. I asked and received a one time upgrade from at&t to unlimited data for smartphone. And I can't get it on my other line,so I reverted back to a laptop connect because: 1) I live in a rural area with NO BROADBAND OTHER THAN WIRELESS and 2)I USES LOTS OF DATA (6mb-10MB/month). I just hope I am NOT one of those who they will throttle back because I'm a heavy data user.
Are there issues tethering the phone via WIFI?
I did check out this thread. Thank you for the link, though,I appreciate it.
Anytime
syncing w/ google is by far the best option (rather than SE)
