I have bought a X10 mini pro on ebay and replaced the 2GB card by a 16GB sdhc. I copied the contents of the former onto the latter via my PC.
Since I did that, the phone starts to play one of the mp3 tracks I copied to it (always the same) as soon as I connect the USB cable, regardless whether it's for synchronising or charging.
The song is not played by the audio player app - if I start a track there, then I here both at the same time. Killing all processes doesn't stop it either.
The only way is to switch off the phone. Switching it on again doesn't restart the music, unless the cable is removed and plugged in again.
Obviously this is more of an oddity than a problem, but it is somewhat annoying, especially since I usually intend to fill the battery when connecting the phone, not drain it with a song on its lips.
Any ideas?

http://mediago.sony.com/enu/download OK, so try deleting the song (or the whole album, if it's part of an album) from your memory card (after saving it on your PC) and then re-transfer it to your phone's memory card or perhaps the phone memory via Media Go or without Media Go.
Strange problem indeed! I would suggest you format the new memory card (on a PC with a USB card reader in FAT32 mode) since the problem started when you switched cards.
Thank you, I guess I'll try that. I'm new to Android, so I hope that saving the data before formatting and restoring them afterwards (as I already did when moving to the new card) is not the cause of the quirk.
Since the audio player is not involved, I suspect that the song has been set as a system sound ... but then there's no sound for "uplinking" ?!
I'll report back after the try.
No, still playing Shakira. I didn't describe the symptoms quite correctly:
- As soon as I connect the USB cable, "Why wait" starts to play, one of the songs on the phone.
- If I choose "charge phone" [sorry if the messages are not exactly right, I have a German Android 2.1.1], the song plays until
a) the cable is disconnected or
b) the phone is switched off or
c) the song ends. No looping, no next title.
- If I choose "connect phone", the music ends immediately.

Great, that did it. I removed the folder, copied it back under a different name, but even after changing the name to its original state, the phone stays quiet now.
I'm still curious as to what might have been the cause of this, but thank you for your sound advice [no pun intended ... well, maybe a little]!
No problem.
