K770i operating system?

K770i operating system?

I know this might sound dumb a question, but.... can somebody please tell me which OS this phone runs on?

Within a few days I will try to install some stuff on a somebody's smartphone, and all I know so far is that it's a Sony Ericsson K770i.... and as unbelievable as it may sound, I haven't been able to find out which operating system runs in it. Android? Symbian? anything else?

Furthermore, do all Sony Ericsson smartphones use this same kind (though of course with version differences) of OS?

many thanks in advance!

Android OS

You also get Symbian Sony Ericsson devices such as Vivaz, Vivaz Pro and Satio

Just to add that there are also a few SE phones, such as the Aspen and Xperia X1/X2, which run on the Windows mobile OS.

ok, I'm clearly new here... I wanted to mark both answers as "correct answer" but when I marked the first one, the option to mark the other one disappeared... sorry about that!

and hey, thanks to you both for your answers, really helpful

one last question: is it possible to run Skype under the Java OS running on the SE K770i?

thanks again, and kind regards

No, I'm afraid Skype isn't available for Java OS.Hopefully it will be in the near future.
