how to delete contacts from an Xperia X8????

I tried the following steps:

1. went to settings

2. selected applications

3. selected manage applications

but, there is not manage contacts present in my phone. what do I do? my father has stored over 500 contacts that i want to delete. Someone help me please

oh ! sorry . i want delete my all contacts without doing factory data reset. is this possible ? thanks for reply

Yes deleting all the contacts is possible without doing factory reset.  Just confirm, are you using the 1.6 or 2.1 Version of Android on your phone. If you are unsure you can find this from Settings>About Phone>Firmware Version.

go to your phonebook -> press MENU -> Delete Contacts -> Mark all > delete
