help with upgrading to 2.1

I recevied my x8 a week go(new), it has android 1.6 installed and i tryed to update it to 2.1 via pc companion, i just can't manage to do it 😕

When i reach "prepare" stage, i disconnect the usb and click back button, while connecting usb but nothing happens, only battery recharge appears.

I've tryed this like 30 times, and still no results. It's really frustrating. And now even the software blocks/freezes and i have to restart my computer.

Help please! Is there any other way to upgrade it to 2.1?

I installed SE update service, and got to connection and when it asked to turn off my phone and plug the usb and press back, i did and the program freezes/blocks like the pc companion...i tried it several times,but nothing! Is it maybe do to the computer configuration?

turn off your firewall and/or antivirus

and/or

restart your computer on safe mode

restart  then press F8 and select safe mode, once there run Update Service

I'm glad it's working, don't forget to backup and sync your phone, just in case you need to repair it later on
