Really need some help, my 10yr old son has locked his experia x8 phone and can't remember his password... is there a way to bypass this, even if it means losing his content on the phone??

Gotta love the kids.... exactly that problem that got me in to Android forums early last year!
OK so the easiest thing is to run a repair using either PC Companion or Sony Ericsson Update Service downloadable from here http://www.sonyericsson.com/cws/support/mobilephones/downloads/subject/updateservice/1.689743?cc=gb&... basically just select your phone type and follow the onscreen instructions.
This will wipe his phone memory but the content on the SD card will be safe. I hope he has a copy of his contacts either synced or copied on his sim or SD card.
If you need any further assistance, just shout!

Thanks Suze, will try that today and let you know, he'll be chuffed if I can fix it!
No worries, let us know how you get on. I have forbidden my son from having a pattern lock on his phone ever since as either he would mess it up or nosey friends would try and get on his device and end up locking it entirely. I have never put one on any of my devices cos its a pain when it goes wrong! He did do me a favour tho in a round about way, as I ended up getting myself the X10 last June and haven't looked back!
All done! Thank you Suze you've made a 10yr old boy very happy.. not to mention his stressed out mammy!
Yay, glad your little fella is happy, cos all us Mum's know.... a happy kid makes a happy Mum.
