Hi can any one tell me if they have the same problem as myself when using the video camera recording !! as mine after approx 5 mins seems to freeze the picture for a second then on play back all of the sound sync is out(this is fine untill 4 mins then it all goes pear shaped).....ive changed the memory card, reset the phone etc etc with no solution solved, the phone is only a day old and i really dont want to send it back, but its driving me mad as ive lost so many memorable video captures.....i was hoping se was back on top with this new phone as with every se phone that ive bought (x10, x10 mini, x10 mini pro, x8, vivaz along with many more ) there is always something thats not right ???? im at my tether with sony ericsson now and really am thinking of never buying anything with sony ericsson on again !!

I totally agree with this!!! I have contacted the BBC's Watchdog programme about this as we could be waiting another 6 months for a fix perhaps. You should contact them too so there is more of a chance of it being investigated.
Hi pmday2013 - as of 4 hours ago I am no longer an Xperia Arc owner. I went straight back to my operator, got a full refund, and advised the shop staff not to sell another single Xperia Arc until this major HD video recording issue has been formally resolved by SE.
Sent from my iPhone ....
Well...
I don't OWN one yet, but I was going to. I have very fond memories of my SE W810i - so SE started off with a big PLUS in my mind.
I am not going to bother now. Looks like SE is NOT actively looking after it's users. It seems to be a "sell and forget" scenario.
I'm now looking at the Samsung Galaxy S2. So far glowing reviews. And top quality photos too! (the major reason for looking at the ARC)... see: http://www.flickr.com/photos/kitsva/sets/72157626531399433/
Sorry SE ... I'm finished with you.
Any solution on this. Keep calling SE but no clear anwers. Soon I´m returing my phone and change brand. Tired of the lies and covering up. =(
I want a date!
Hi everyone, I sent an email to Sony Ericsson and they have just sent me this back. I haven't tried this yet but i'm gonna try it with the 8GB memory card they supplied as I don't want to pointlessly format my SD card and back up stuff unneccessarily. I'll let you know how I get on...
Dear Anthony,
We apologise for the problems you are experiencing with video play back using your Sony Ericsson Arc.
I can confirm that the problems with the video and audio playing back out of sync is caused by the SD card in your handset being formatted to the wrong type. To format your SD card correctly please follow the details provided below:
Having formatted the SD card to this type you will now find any footage shot using the camera on your Xperia Arc should no longer be out of sync.
Please note: Formatting your SD card will wipe any information on the card therefore I would advise that your back up any data you do not wish to lose before formatting the SD card.

BOYS AND GIRLS ...LADIES AND GENTS!...
Sony has officially fixed this hd issue... there was nothing to it. it is pathetic that they didnt come up with it earlier when there really wasnt anything to it.. THE phone officially goes from fail to epic.. all problems addressed...
I simply updated my phone by plugging the usb. updated from 2.32 to 2.33.. and sd format goes to fat 32... took 4 mins for update.. once update is done switch on the phone (given in the update instructions as the update completes). phone will take a good 6 or maybe more minutes and will load.. as you unlock the key the phone will intially be slow as the sd card will be going through changes... after 50 seconds the phone will become smooth.
I then performed the test!.
intially my phone would go out of sync after 10 seconds..others were lucky and would get 30s.. but mine went in 10 seconds and i had bought two arcs from dubai duty free.. Anyways i performed a 30 second test result= Pass no sync issue.. i then performed a 1min test pass again.. i then performed a good 6 min and the result is the same pass.. so its official sony has redeemed it self.. it may have lost some of us.. but i guess its not bad after all.. i was guna change the phone but now its pefect.. hd recording is perfect. i dont have the time but can someone perform a longer test and get back...
process is simple plug and update.. hope this helps.. thank you sony!
No update available from Sony Ericsson in the UK yet. Pleeeeeeeeease release this in the UK as soon as possible!!!!!!!!!!!
Umm... about formatting to FAT32... do I need to do that anymore? Because when I connect the memory card to the computer it says that is FAT32 format. Please answer me, as I'm still not able to get 2.3.3 in Romania.
