Hi can any one tell me if they have the same problem as myself when using the video camera recording !! as mine after approx 5 mins seems to freeze the picture for a second then on play back all of the sound sync is out(this is fine untill 4 mins then it all goes pear shaped).....ive changed the memory card, reset the phone etc etc with no solution solved, the phone is only a day old and i really dont want to send it back, but its driving me mad as ive lost so many memorable video captures.....i was hoping se was back on top with this new phone as with every se phone that ive bought (x10, x10 mini, x10 mini pro, x8, vivaz along with many more ) there is always something thats not right ???? im at my tether with sony ericsson now and really am thinking of never buying anything with sony ericsson on again !!
Solved! Go to Solution.
It seems there is better support from other users than from Sony Ericsson.
So far the "solution" seems to be that a type 6 8GB card works. Great. So what if you want to store a bunch of apps, pics and video? And from what I have read, it isn't a guarantee as to a solution, since some people have indicated that a 8GB type 6 card doesn't work for them.
Now, to compound the issue, I have asked on another forum discussing the ARC whether anyone is encountering problems with this HD recording issue. So far a few replies seems to indicate they are not having this problem (phones in Australia purchased either locally or from the UK). Strange?
I don't know whether if I buy one of these things whether I am going to have trouble or whether I am going to get a phone where I can record reliably. I'm NOT going to gamble with my money, though - I'd rather pay the extra for the new Samsung G'S2 and KNOW I am not going to have the headaches...
C'mon SE mods or support team. How about an update as to what action is being taken?? Are you guys looking into this problem or are you taking a "Problem... WHAT problem?" approach.
I'm sorry to hear that you guys are having this problem.
I have been testing this. I recorded a HD video for about 6 minutes and I can see that the audio does not sync properly.
I have forwarded this problem to concerned team and hopefully we'll see a fix on this in upcoming update for the phone.
At the moment I unfortunately have no info on when the next update will be released.
I'm really sorry about this.
I'm here and listening to you and I understand your eager for this problem to be fixed, and I can ensure you it's something that we're looking into as we speak.
But unfortunately I have no further information at the moment. I will come back to you as soon as I have any news about this issue.
Hi Jonan
Would you please be kind enough to let ALL of the SE TEAM know about this issue/problem !!!! (and other issues that have arisen in other se forums regarding the Xperia Arc) as there are other ppl besides myself that have had replies back from Sony Ericsson stating that they have no knowledge of this issue ???????? .......we as customers are trying to help you guys out at SE by telling you the issues/problems of a new phone, in order to avoid you guys getting a bad rep ????? so please have some respect for us all !! as we could all just easily take the phones back to where we have bought them from and exchange for a different make.
I have (yesterday) contacted the Sony Ericsson guys at Dialaphone regarding this problem and apart from the email attactment of this forum that ive sent them they had NO knowledge that this problem existed, even though they got in touch with your SE offices ( Communication Is The Key To Success ...so please remind your SE Management Team about this........and maybe SE will be on top of everyones list again !!!)
Kind Regards

Thanks...hmmm i hear in other thread say arc will have an upgrade to 2.3.3 but not fix yet...and also no confirmation yet from SEanswer...
here the thread...
Hi folks,
I hate cut 'n pasting replies across similar / identical threads ... (http://talk.sonyericsson.com/thread/16297?tstart=0) but I've noticed no movement on this one and it's a critical technology / marketing issue.
There is an acknowledgement from Johan-SEAnswers above that there is indeed an audio sync problem when recording in HD.
Yesterday I purchased a reputable 16Gb Class 6 SD card, after formatting, it measured a 7 Mb/sec write & 17 Mb/sec read using the app 'SD Tools'. I also recently reinstalled the Xperia Arc software using SE Update Service last week - and unfortunately I'm still experiencing major audio sync issues of up to 2 seconds with the video ...
I have had to resort to using VGA video recording rather than lose precious family moments
As confirmed by the majority on this forum, HD video recording is genuinely not feasible for most folks on the Xperia Arc ... regardless of the big HD Logo printed on the back of the phone As such this constitutes a class #1 critical system bug.
Is there any update on this bug fix - as there's been no update from SE since 27 April 2011 otherwise I geniunely have to ditch SE and switch to HTC / Apple ? Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Paul
