I'm aware this is probably a silly question, but I'm struggling to find a direct answer by googling:
Briefly, I've recently stopped paying Orange £5 a month for unlimited mobile to save money, but on bills since I've had data charges when data traffic has accidently been turned on, even though I haven't intentially the internet. So I always check it is off.
But if I want to use WiFi rather than 3G (which is free, right?) I'll have to turn data traffic on (don't, I?)...but this seems to mean my phone accumulates data charges which I don't want...can this be stopped?
Any help/understanding appreciated.
Thanks

ok make sure u are in the wifi's range..
cause if iy out of range it wont show..
also if u see the wifi icon and suddenly it disappears, it means u walked out of the wifi range..
no u dont have to enable data traffic
u talink about this only right ??
settings > wireless and networks > mobile networks > data disabled ??
right ?
u can turn it off and still use wifi
Yes you've answered my question, thank you but I now I have another problem...I thought WiFi wasn't working because I didn't have data traffic enabled, but if it should work when data traffic is enabled, I don't know why it isn't! When I turn it on I don't get the little symbol in the left hand corner and it won't connect, can you help with this?
Thanks
Oh...I just realised you have to press a button on the livebox to make it visible!
Thanks for your help
