Marsmallow 6.0 and SD card as internal storage

About adoptive storage...

Firstly, Marshmallow supports adoptive storage, but ADB tools, a PC and a USB cable is required. You can see how to do it on xda forums, in a M4 Aqua thread. It doesn't require root, does not void warranty if you still have any.

Secondly, only some apps support to be moved on microSD card, and only those apps can be installed on adoptive storage, too. If you have a class 10 microSD card with high speed, you may enjoy it, otherwise your apps will lag.
Some popular apps that support installation on external storage: Facebook, Instagram, Telegram, Microsoft Office apps, Open Camera, Total Commander, Google Play Books, Goggles, some big games like GTA:LCS.

Lastly, before the Marshmallow update I sent Sony Mobile a couple of emails about adopted storage and they said Marshmallow in M4 will have the adoptive storage feature. But they did not include it in the update. Their officials simply misinformed and lied. (You can check my older post on xda)

Does nougat have flexi/adopted storage inbuilt or is marshmallow 6 better for the faff of freeing up space on internal storage?

There's no Nougat for Xperia M4 Aqua coz this device not support and not compatible with Nougat software..

Only flagship high end device from Sony will receive android Nougat.

I love sony.but storage a problem with new update messed up my phone.cant access my memory card.phone getting hot after update.battery life no longer what it used to be.whole set-up on phone changed.Sorry for sony not good review.But now i dont like the phone always giving problems after update.instal reinstal all the time.a big problem.Sony please sort out this problem because agrevating?????

Hi all

There is no official way to make internal storage an SD card in Sony M4 aqua and that's really disappointing because the device is really a good one at the market and worth its money. 

The only way to do it, is to make in the SD card a new partition and declare it as internal. There are some tutorials in the net to do it, but use them at your own risk. It worked with my phone. All the apps run smoothly but I had to re-install them (that's the least, no worries).
