Regarding this article this should work, but I can not get it to work. Anyone that have tips?
Hi @Domingos1973,
Could you let me know which apps it is that you are referring to? Note that you can set the device to not automatically update apps by going to the Google Play Store > Menu (3 lines in the top left) > Settings > Auto-update apps > Do not auto-update apps. Once you've done so, go to What's new > Menu (3 dots in the top right) > Auto update apps > Off and finally you can also set the software to not update automatically by going to Settings > About phone > Software update > Menu (3 dots in the top right) > Settings > Allow automatic updates > Do not update automatically.
You may still be notified that an app has an available update, but you choose if you wish to install it or not yourself. This should leave some additional free space for you to choose what you wish fill it with.
Hi all
I was suffering badly from not enough memory, and haven't been able to get adaptive memory working,
even tried inserting a SDcard formatted to ext4
However,
I've found you can reclaim a lot of internal memory with marshmellow, I now have 6.5 GB used compared to 7.4 GB on android 5
I found you can nearly delete some of the the unwanted apps
memory hogs like open office now go on the SD card , and google app can be reduced
toggle enable/disable a few times, first uninstall the updates to the app then when asked if you want to delete it, accept.
it may say its unsuccessful , but apps like Gmail drop to KBs

I have to say, that I would also love to have the adaptive storage enabled. When I bought the phone, I also bought a SD-card with fast read/write to go with it.
So far I had some troubles with the Marsmellow upgrade, and however it took some time to get everything right, I think the only thing missing to make this M4 a success is the adaptive storage. Though I have read the pro's and con's that Sony decided not to enable it, I would strongly advice to reconsider. The number of apps is very limited, and I even don't have facebook, an app that is used by a very large group of users and reknown to be a memory gobbler.
Please reconsider.
Kind regards,
Kelly
Buy an SD card and use it for all your media and save picture and videos directly to the SD card, problem solve, now you can take pictures of important school stuff

I love my m4 evrytime i want to install a app it warns me with no storage but derp in my hart i know that the m4 aqua is so smart that it can warn me for big apps i don't need storage sometimes i need to make a photo of some inportant scool stuff and i cant make it because of my m4 that warns me: "Don't make these photos because i cant remember anything." I really like my m4.
This phone is complete Crap!!
I will never buy a sony phone, it's a disgrace to the Sony name.
I bought this phone and found it unusable after a few weeks, because there is no storage.
Upgraded to marshmallow, did the internal formatting of the SD Card, which i bought specially,
and still, it freed 300mb, not more.
I created a user specially to make my voice heard.
Stay away from Sony phones as a principle, it's so outrageous that I wasted more then 400$
on a phone i cannot use.
My galaxy S2 is more usable then this piece of junk.
Hi @OSIRIS07, I'm sorry to hear that you're dissatisfied with your choice of device.
I'm afraid that I am unable to process a refund or upgrade for you, as this is a Global used based technical support forum. If you wish to have your device returned, my recommendation is that you get in touch with your retailer in order to move further with your case. I am unfamiliar with your local consumer laws, but your Local support should be well informed as to what options you may have available for you - try contacting them as well in addition to your retailer.
