Hi, My m4 after update to andro 6 shows only 883 MB Ram... it has 2 GB Ram memory, why is not the whole memory working? Its not all, my front camera is not working and the system is working really slow... I allready have repaired my smartphone via Xperia Center but the issue still occures. Don't write to me that I should go to the local servis, because that is the last thing that I will do. There must be any solution...

I am another owner of an M4 Aqua and my phone has exactly the same problem. Only shows 883 MB of ram, most of which is being used, just at idle.
Phone runs very slow, cammera app takes an age to open and isn't useable once it is open (no doubt due to the lack of ram.
I sent my phone for repair to the sony repair centre in october last year and was told my phone would need full refurbishment. I asked for pics, they sent me pics of someone elses phone! After arguing with them for an age, the concluded that my phone wasn't working properly due to damage not covered by warranty (a small hairline crack in the plastic case (no doubt caused by the phone flexing in my pocket).
I wasn't convinced and asked for the phone to be returned. After arguing with them again, they agreed to return it free of charge.
So anyway, today I decided to do a bit of quick research before I list the phone on ebay as spares or repairs and I found this thread.
Clearly the phone has a manufacturing defect and as such is not fit for purpose. It is about time Sony offered a resolution other than asking if I have tried turning it off and on again (Yes I have done all the rebooting, reformatting and so on).
OK, so the phone isn't top end, it should still at least work. I can't afford to chuck £150 in the bin every 3 months (which is about how long my M4 aqua lasted before going wrong).
I will be doing my very best to put friends and family off buying Sony phones from now on. Poor quality, defective, not fit for purpose phones, backed up by incompentent aftercare.

I ditched sony, personally I believe we are all owed compensation as this clearly is a manufacturing issue and sony should have issued a recall.
At this point i gave up and purchased a lenovo k5 half the price and reliable.
Sorry I will never buy anything sony ever again.

I'm vinit from India. As I already told Sony that my phone loss 1 gb rab and shows only 883 Mb Ram after upgrading to marshmallow. This problem occurs many Xperia andis only occur in Xperia m4.This phone never get any physical damage then how it's possible of Hardware issue. I WARN SONY to Fixed this issue otherwise I'll Go to 'GRAHAK SURAKSHA KENDRA' and do complaint.
Choose Sony instead of SAMSUNG E5 was my biggest mistake. I never seen a brand like Sony who didn't care of their Customer. SONY, it's not coincidence that many users faces same issue after same situation I.e. After upgrading to marshmallow. Even Chinese Companies are better. Change your mind or Your credit will go down.

"I have just received a reply from the team I escalated this to and they have concluded that this is related to a component failure. If you are experiencing that the RAM memory is about half of what it should be I recommend that you have your device sent for repairs at an authorized service centre in order to have this sorted out. The easiest way to proceed with doing this is by contacting your Local support team as they will have more information on local service and warranty procedures in your area.

R u a senseless?????? WHY R U CAN'T UNDERSTAND WHAT I WANT TO SAY. I just wanna to know... How it is possible of component failure without any physical damage.And why this happened only In XPERIA M4 AQUA?????? Customer care suggested me to change motherboard which cost me approx 8,000 INDIAN RUPEES. Why should I pay 8000 as I didn't do anything wrong. IT'S YOUR COMPANY FAULT, THEN WHY SHOULD I BARE THIS PROBLEM.
And I ask you and Sony for Final time...do u have any other Solution.... If u don't have then clearly say NO then I'll proceed it in my way by contacting ' GRAHAK SURAKSHA KENDRA '😡😡
I am very sorry to hear that and I really understand your concern, but I am afraid that I can only refer you to service should you experience that your RAM is halved, according to my previous post. If you wish to raise your concern further then I advice to do so with your Local support as they will be more informed regarding on how you may proceed.
