Importing photos to laptop

Hi. Needed to import a single photo for passport application. Couldn't isolate that one photo. Only option was to import all photos and videos so ended up with over a thousand items I'd never even seen before from I don't know where. Had to go through the whole lot to delete everything and be left with the one photo I needed. Nightmare for .Can anyone relate to this? Thanks

Connect to computer, and then on phone, swipe down and click on usb options.

Select file transfer mode.

On computer, go to file explorer and open your phone's icon.

Now you can grab individual images from DCIM folder

Hi @jillyj, welcome to our forum!

It does sound like you have used the import feature that is available in Windows, and that will import every single picture and video file from the device, even those that are stored on the cache memory so you will end up with a lot of pictures and videos that are not recorded/taken by you.

The best option is to follow the instructions that @Viridis wrote and if you are unsure where the exact picture is stored, you can open up the Album application in your device > find the photo > tap on it > tap on it again and then you'll see three dots in the bottom right corner > tap them and choose "Details", then you can see exactly where the picture is stored (internal storage or SD card an d which folder). The photos/videos that you record/take with the camera will always be stored in DCIM/100ANDRO on either the internal storage or SD card.

Let us know how it went! Slightly_smiling_Face
