I have the M4 Aqua which was previously owned by someone else, although the device should still be water resistant (I don't think it has undergone any repairs), is there any way of checking if it has previously been submerged in water? I remember reading somewhere that devices have a piece of paper somewhere which changes colour upon contact with water...
yes you can check if the the device was exposed to water by looking at the water damage indicator, it is usually placed near inside the flaps. take note though that the device may have been only "exposed" and not submerged. there are a lot of ways that the indicator turns red.
a sure way to know is to have your device checked at your local service center Local support
There is this white card like thing in the memory card slot area, but I haven't tried taking it out in case I damage anything, is that it?
