Happens the same to me, less than a day with 0 use of the phone all shut down and the phone drains the battery.
I was sleeping and the phone went from 100% to 0% in less than 11h.
This is with 0 use of the phone and you can check 0% screen usage:
Looks like the "telephone" or the "signal" is draining too much battery.
Have no app on and all synch off.
Also if I put it in the pocket the phone starts heating up.

Solved it doing a software repair with Sony PC Companion.
Now I can use the Phone days without recharging.

After the battery reaches 100%(and you get in settings-about phone the message full charged),you can safely remove the charger.

Since the update I'm having major issues with with the battery. Before, I used to do everything with the phone from browsing to videos to gaming. Since the update I mostly use it for reading and messaging, haven't even installed a game.
Before, it used to take 2 days before I had to charge it. It's been off the charger for 10 hours and 36 minutes now, and already down to 9%. I actually saw it drop 5% while making an account here and writing this.
Can someone please help me with this? It's been like this since the update and it progressively gets worse.

If you are using battery savers, task killers, just remove them. Also, you could try a software repair via sony update service.
