I have a Sony Bravia DAV-DZ260 5.1 home theatre system and I'd like to upgrade to a Sony Blu-Ray player. Are there any players that will be compatible with my current 5.1 speaker system? I'd prefer not to buy a whole new 5.1 system as there is nothing wrong with it. Any advice would be much appreciated. Best, Phil

Hmm, tricky one as looking at the specs, you don't have HDMI input on that home theatre kit, othewise would have been easy, you only have analogue composite input so you would loose the quality from Blu-ray straight away.
I don't think you'd be able to without massively sacrificing quality, unless anyone else has an alternative view?
Thanks

You can use the DZ260 as an amp, feeding a digital signal out of most Blu Ray players using a co-ax or optical lead into one of the digital inputs on the back of the DZ260. Alternatively, your TV may pass a 5.1 signal down, picking it up from an HDMI input and passing it down a co-ax/ optical cable.
If you are putting more than one digital input into the DZ260 make sure you are happy with the priority of signals: co-ax takes precedence over an optical signal. You will need to read the manuals to ensure you retain the 5.1 signal.
