UPDATED ***RDR Stuck in Update or no Digital channels issue***

Hi all,

To avoid having several thread son the same subject I thought I'd try an let you know what I believe has happened so far, please don't shot the messenger after all I am only a user like yourselves & DO NOT WORK FOR SONY..

 

As you all have noticed Sony do not have technical support on the weekends, one of the 'Experts' noticed several users posting regarding RDR machines either stuck in Update or Digital channels missing and emailed one of our contacts in Sony this morning but as far as I am aware there has not been a reply..

 

I have also noticed that the newly appointed Community Managers have as also flagged this issue to their dedicated team (see post), unfortunately as it's the weekend I wouldn't expect any information to made available until Monday..

 

Quinnicus has posted two temporary workarounds that will hopefully allow you to use your RDR's..

I can imagine that you are frustrated by the lack of official response from Sony but could I ask that rather than creating several threads on the subject you instead just click on Me Too on this thread that will indicate how many users that have visited the forum are affected by the problem..

UPDATE:

Hopefully the EPG is on your Sony RDR devices should now be back to normal..

Sony have failed to address this issue. 9am Monday I will issue a letter before action to start the legal process . Anybody want to phone the police I am sure this is criminal damage what they have done.!!

Thanks a lot for the interim fixes...most appreciated. At least I can now watch DVDs and dub off anything precious on the disk!

Till reading this I thought my HDX 995 was kaput. I'm finished with Sony in future.

HXD 995 and smaller hard drive version both suffering from this mess :slight_frown:

Me too - since at or before 19:00 on Friday 19th July.  Urgent action please Sony, or is this the Sony equivalent of the alleged #Huawei kill switch?

anybody heard owt yet or is it a case waiting while tomorrow when they decide to sort it out (eventually) thankfully got rid of the update, but no channels like everyone else

the channels work fine if you set FRANCE as your location

all you will have lost is the epg, which is corrupt

then wait for a fix from sony or pioneer

If the France fix doesn't work the first time, do try again. It worked first time on mine, but my parents had to do it twice on an identical machine. So don't give up hope if it doesn't work the first time!

Me too - same machine as yours. Found loads of useful stuff here yesterday and posted on several threads but have done it here too if this is where the number of affected users will be noted - thank goodness for PEWrigh38 saved the day for us as it was driving us nuts! Still no fix! affected late pm on Fri 19th July.

Please could someone tell us when SONY has fixed this problem or how will we know?????

 

Still having same problems today.

 

It is really annoying and SONY's service isn't acceptable.
