SVR-HDT500 recorder

Despite working perfectly normally previously, now as soon as my wife's TV is switched on her HDR's blue light keeps flashing and will not respond to the remote, the reset button or even its own on/off switch.   It remains flashing until the TV is switched off.   Her TV recognises that there is a Sony HDR plugged in through it.

Can anyone help?

Hi there

Normally switching the power off from the wall for 30 seconds fixes things.  If not, press the reset button under the flap at the front with a pen for 10 seconds (im unsure if this is the reset you were referring to).

If that doesnt work, are you able to actually use it?  Meaning, does it boot up at all?

I am not sure whether I am doing this right, but I also have this problem.

The only thing I can add is that there is a message onscreen which says "HD Hard Disk Recorder".

It did resolve itself yesterday, but back again on switch on today.

Hi there

Have you tried my suggestion above about pressing the reset button on the front of the recorder?  Its under the USB flap/cover.

If that fails, try another HDMI cable.
