Hi,
I bought a BDP-S370 today. It's a lovely bit of kit but there's a problem with the sound. I have it connected to the TV solely through an HDMI cable - there's not a surround sound system or anything like that. Just the one connection and the internet.
The picture works with no problems no matter what, but if I try to connect to YouTube, there's no sound from the videos. The same is true of the Sky News shows and Eurosport clips. However, the sound works fine on the BBC iPlayer, and Five on Demand, and Sony VOD and some random German news channel.
Also, the player seems to have no problems playing DVDs and Blu-rays - the sound comes out perfectly. But if I try to play a CD, there's nothing.
However, I took it round to my father-in-law's house on his Sony Bravia tv (I have a Philips), and the CD played with no problems. I can't think of any reason why there should be any problems with the telly though, especially when other stuff works fine.
Has anyone got any good ideas of what on earth is going on?
Many thanks.
Edit: I should point out that I've swapped the hdmi cable with another one, tried resetting to factory defaults and tried turning it off and on again as well!

Hi there
Do you have a W series Bravia?
There have been some reports of sound dropping / faults when connected to a BDP-S370
Hi jumpsuit, thanks for the response.
I have a Philips 32PFL7962D TV, it's my father in law who has the Bravia.
Another (tiny) update: received a new HDMI cable through the post, still nothing. Three different cables have produced the same effect, so I think that can be ruled out. Could it be some sort of codec issue? DivX files don't have sound, either.
