I have just installed the Image Egde Desktop suite and have found that the Edit module does not appear to remember registered programs for advanced editing. I tried both Affinity Photo and Corel Paintshop Pro.
Immediately after registering the programs I can send the tiff image successfully but if I close the Edit module then reopen it, the registration has disappeared.
With the Viewer module, the registration is retained.
The Image Edge suite was installed from an administrator account on operating system Windows 11 Home version 21H2.
Any advice on how to fix this?
Many thanks.
An update - I found a fix. I had a look where the viewer stored its config data and found
C:\Users\[xxx]\AppData\Roaming\Sony Corporation\Imaging Edge\Viewer\confix.xml
There was no similar folder for the Edit app so I created the folder
C:\Users\[xxx]\AppData\Roaming\Sony Corporation\Imaging Edge\Edit\
After starting to app and registering the external editor program, Edit wrote a config.xml file, thereby saving the information.
The probalem appears to be that when installing Edit, no 'Edit' folder was created in
C:\Users\[xxx]\AppData\Roaming\Sony Corporation\Imaging Edge\
I haven't tried the Remote part of the suite yet so I don't know if a similar issue of not saving settings will occur.
Brilliant!
